Nidos has been working in the European context since 2007 and has cooperated with (international) organisations from most of the European countries. Nidos has been involved in many international projects on guardianship and reception of unaccompanied and separated children ever since and also cooperates with the European Commission, EASO and FRA.


Nidos founded and is leading the European Guardianship Network (EGN), EGN is funded by the European Commission from 2018-2020. EGN is a network of guardianship authorities and agencies, (local) authorities and international and non-governmental organisations. EGN aims to promote guardianship and improve guardianship services for unaccompanied and separated children in the EU Member States by exchanging good practices, expertise and other relevant information and sharing ideas and cooperation on common challenges and cross border work.
